Romero Osby wanted a fresh start. Rated the 57th-best player in the country by Rivals.com coming out of high school in Meridian, Miss., the 6-8, 247-pounder averaged 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in just 12.8 minutes per game over his freshman and sophomore seasons at Mississippi State the last two years. With an undefined role and limited opportunities to impact his team’s games, Osby says he lost confidence and wanted a new home.

Getting to Know T.J. Taylor

Because he suffered a broken ankle early in the summer of 2009, OU freshman T.J. Taylor didn’t get the chance to show recruiting analysts how he stacked up against the country’s elite heading into his senior year of high school. As a result, Taylor now feels that few people have a full grasp of his abilities on the court. He hopes to change that when the Sooners suit up in November.

It’s not going out on a limb to say the Oklahoma men’s basketball team endured a disappointing 2009-10 season. A Sooners team ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP poll and picked by Big 12 Conference coaches to finish third in the league posted a 13-18 overall record and tied for ninth place in the Big 12.
