University of Oklahoma sophomore guard Willie Warren has announced he will forego his final two seasons at OU and make himself eligible for the NBA Draft.

Warren to Have Season-Ending Surgery

Oklahoma sophomore guard Willie Warren will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle Wednesday. Warren injured the ankle in practice Jan. 21, missed two games and then re-injured it in the final stages of OU’s Feb. 17 game at Colorado. He has missed the Sooners’ last four contests.

Sooners Hang with No. 1 Kansas, Fall on Road 81-68

Xavier Henry scored 18 of his 23 points in the first half and No. 1 Kansas clinched at least a share of its sixth straight Big 12 regular season title with an easy 81-68 victory over Oklahoma on Monday night. Kansas (27-1, 13-0) didn’t wait to clinch its latest title, sewing it up with three games left after doing it in the final week the past three seasons. The Jayhawks overwhelmed overmatched Oklahoma (13-14, 4-9) from the start, building a 17-point lead in the first half and shooting 51 percent overall to extend the Sooners’ Lawrence losing streak to 10 games.

John Roberson scored 22 points, Darko Cohadarevic added 12 and Texas Tech barely held off a second-half rally to beat Oklahoma 72-71 Tuesday night, snapping the Sooners’ 31-game home winning streak against unranked opponents. Willie Warren and Tommy Mason-Griffin each missed potential game-winning 3-pointers in the final 5 seconds as Oklahoma (13-10, 4-5 Big 12) absorbed a disheartening blow to its postseason hopes.
